1、 Customer background and pain points
A first tier international automotive parts supplier mainly produces electronic sensors for vehicles, including temperature sensors, position sensors, pressure sensors, etc. Its products need to work in complex working conditions for a long time, such as high temperature, high humidity, and strong vibration environments. The previously used foreign brand epoxy sealant had the following issues:
After solidification, the colloid is brittle and prone to cracking during thermal shock;

2、 Recommended material: Elaplus PUR 1680 (D70) high hardness polyurethane sealant
The recommended sealing solution for it is Elaplus PUR 1680 (D70) A/B two-component polyurethane adhesive. This material is designed specifically for mid to high end electronic packaging and has excellent comprehensive performance. It has been widely used in communication equipment, power modules, controllers, vehicle sensors, industrial control board encapsulation, and other fields.

3、 Actual application effect
After replacing the original material with Elaplus PUR 1680 (D70), the customer conducted a 6-month verification test and found significant results
Good sealing adaptability
The customer adopts the AB two-component static mixing injection molding process, which ensures good flowability of the material at room temperature, uniform sealing, and almost no bubble phenomenon.
Significant improvement in reliability
All sealed products have passed the high-temperature and high humidity aging test at 85 ℃/85% RH for 168 hours, as well as 300 cycles of cold and hot shock from -40 ℃ to 125 ℃, without cracking, peeling, or dielectric breakdown issues.
Improve qualification rate and production capacity
Control the curing time of the material at 24 hours (room temperature) or 70 ℃/2 hours to accelerate the overall process rhythm; The product qualification rate has increased from 93% to 98.7%.
Cost reduction
Due to the fact that the material does not require a primer, has good compatibility with the substrate, and has stable supply, the customer has successfully achieved domestic substitution and reduced raw material costs by about 18%.
4、 Environmental Protection and Safety Assurance
PUR 1680 (D70) is solvent-free and heavy metal free, meets environmental requirements, and has passed UL V-0 flame retardant certification. It is a green, safe, and sustainable polyurethane potting material. During use, it is recommended to wear protective gloves and goggles, and maintain good ventilation at the construction site.
